UDP joined the Freight Forwarders Forum 2024!

The event was held in Odesa, bringing together logistics market top players: freight forwarders, carriers, container lines, terminals.

The event was also attended by representatives of government agencies involved in the transport process.

Vladyslav Bielakh, Deputy CEO at UDP, shared his impressions of the Forum:

1.  The Forum showed that the market is once again showing an active interest in Danube logistics. Freight rates have dropped significantly compared to last year, and the price gap between the Danube and Odesa is narrowing. Businesses are asking for offers. Businesses are working with us to estimate delivery via Danube ports, which is a positive signal.

2.  UDP offers its customers something that competitors cannot. Integrated logistics chains. In terms of Constanța, this includes transshipment in Ukrainian ports, delivery, and transshipment to a sea vessel. As regards the EU, this includes stockpiling and storage at delivery ports, transportation by road or rail to the end consumer (last-mile delivery).

3.  UDP is an option for those who are not satisfied with the conditions of operation through Odesa ports, who are tired of lines at the terminals, and the inability to sell products to the end consumer. We offer a solution to the problem.

4.  UDP is perceived by the market as a reliable partner. The Company’s image in the market has fundamentally changed. We work transparently and fulfil our obligations. This is the basis for partnership with market leaders.

5.  Container shipping on the Danube is still relevant. Freight forwarders are well aware of the benefits, and the idea will be implemented. It is only a matter of time.
