Dry cargo “Izmail” has been docked for overhaul!

Even before the arrival of our team, the UDP sea fleet was transferred to a bareboat charter.

There was no maintenance required by the tenant. There was a threat of losing the fleet.

We returned the entire navy to the control of the Ukrainian state.

Last year, “Vilkovo” was completely renovated, which has been successfully operating for six months.
“Izmail” was the last to be returned. In the fall of last year, he was abandoned in Bulgaria on his own accord. Without documents. In terrible technical condition.

We formed a new team, conducted a preliminary technical audit, purchased and repaired some equipment. Two months ago, the ship went to the place of repair.

Part of the work was completed even before the installation in the dock. Necessary spare parts and equipment have been ordered. Finally, the ship was lifted into the dock.

Using the experience of restoring “Vilkovo”, we are trying to optimize costs. We repair what can be repaired, we replace the rest.

It is too early to give forecasts for the completion of repairs. But we are speeding up the process as much as possible so that the ship starts to return the spent investments.

For reference. Dry cargo vessels of the “Izmail” type – a series of six ships (“Izmail”, “Vilkovo”, “Reny”, “Tatarbunari”, “Kilya” and “Viana do Castelo”), built in the early nineties by order of the UDP on Portuguese shipyard Viana do Castelo.

These are universal dry cargo vessels designed for the transportation of general, bulk cargoes of various nomenclature, grain, containers. The vessels have no restrictions, but were created taking into account the specifics of the Danube, have a low draft, are convenient for the most relevant river-sea transportation today.

The length of the vessel is 88.15 m, deadweight 3700 tons, power 2700 hp, draft 6 m.
