At the Maritime Union Center in Odesa, a meeting with sailors organized by the Trade Union of Marine Transport Workers of Ukraine (MTWTU) took place. Participation in the event was possible not only in person but also online.
Ukrainian Danube Shipping Company was presented, our capabilities were discussed, and information about current job openings, conditions, and the pay system was shared.
Since last year, we have been operating not only river vessels but also sea vessels. Therefore, we are interested in cooperation with professional and experienced sailors.
“The level of pay at UDP today is higher, and social guarantees are better than at many private shipping companies. Not everyone knows this; sailors are accustomed to thinking that a state enterprise necessarily means meager salaries and delays in payments. In reality, the situation is the opposite. People from the private sector are returning to us,” noted Vladyslav Bielakh, the Deputy General Director.
According to Vladyslav, this year UDP will commission another sea vessel currently undergoing repairs. Therefore, the company is preemptively forming a personnel reserve.
“We have set the task to create a strong personnel reserve. The company offers very competitive conditions that allow attracting the best specialists from the market. The question is just about developing the necessary base. That’s exactly what we are working on today,” emphasizes Bielakh.
The meeting turned out to be very productive. Five participants submitted applications to UDP, which are currently being processed. Thus, the personnel reserve of UDP is beginning to fill up quickly.
