In the global market today, wheat is almost 20% cheaper than a year ago. And in the first quarter of 2022, the price was almost twice (!) as high as it is now. The market situation is not very favorable, which inevitably affects the river logistics market.
“European farmers are not in a hurry to export, waiting for a market correction. But our Danube grain route is working: river transportation from the Middle Danube to Constanta is the most accessible logistical route for farmers to a large seaport,” notes Vladyslav Belakh, Deputy General Director of UDP.
