During a trilateral meeting in the Quint format, our Romanian colleagues announced the completion of the tender for its organization.
Last year, UDP was one of the initiators of the project. The capacity of Constanța’s terminals was not enough to handle the grain flow from Ukraine. There were up to 600 barges with grain in the port, waiting for 30-40 days to be unloaded.
Since then, most of Ukraine’s agricultural exports have returned to the ports of Greater Odesa.
However, the Danube route is not losing its relevance. Our American partners emphasise that the Danube is a backup logistics route that needs to be strengthened and developed.
However, even so, the anchorage will not be idle. UDP replaces Ukrainian agricultural products with grain from the Middle Danube. The Company plans to deliver up to 200-250 thousand tonnes to Constanța every month.
We offer a comprehensive service – river freight plus board-to-board transshipment in Constanța.
If the main export flow from Ukraine returns to the Danube, the anchorage will be a lifeline that will significantly increase the capacity of our logistics model.
