This adds to the UAH 537 million in taxes paid by UDP last year.
While private companies optimize and minimize taxes, we do the opposite.
Just a year ago, for example, we transferred crews from an offshore shipping company to the UDP payroll. The salary taxes for sailors now go directly to the budget. The offshore company itself is registered with the tax authorities in Ukraine. Do you know many Panamanian companies that pay taxes in Ukraine?
For the shipping industry, this is an additional financial burden. But we are contributing to the budget of a country at war, from which the Armed Forces are financed.
Is it really possible for state-owned companies to compete with private business under these conditions?
Yes, it’s possible. We optimize and strictly control expenses, invest in modern digital technologies, recruit the best specialists, expand our customer base, and offer them the most efficient solutions.
This involves daily process improvement, a daily struggle for survival, in which the entire team is engaged.
