All components of the infrastructure are becoming more resilient. Protection of energy facilities is being built, bridges and roads in de-occupied territories are being restored.
The Danube cluster, which has become an alternative direction for export, is developing. According to Oleksandr Kubrakov, 30 million tons of cargo passed through the Danube ports in 2023.
It’s worth noting that the UDP team also made a significant contribution to strengthening the resilience of Ukrainian infrastructure.
In two years of work, we carried out a large-scale repair program and nearly doubled the number of self-propelled fleet in operation. Dozens of barges have been restored and put into operation. Construction of new non-self-propelled fleet has started, and modernization of traction has been launched. This year, the first UDP vessels with modern economical engines will appear on the Danube, opening the possibility of full-fledged work with the ports of the Upper Danube.
The task for this year is to strengthen UDP not only technically but also economically. Danube logistics has passed the test of capability, the next test is competitiveness: cost optimization, efficient management, comprehensive logistics solutions.
I am convinced that we will pass this test as well.
