PJSC “UDP” pays great attention to various forms of supporting its employees.
The company has two trade union organizations – the primary trade union organization of PJSC “UDP” and the Independent Danube Trade Union of Water Transport Employees “Equity”.
Relations between the Employer and labour collective are governed by the current Collective Agreement for 2015-2017 (as amended and supplemented in 2015-2022).
The Collective Agreement includes the following obligations for the Employer:
– payment of wages, ensuring the work and rest regime, occupational safety and healthcare for the employees in accordance with the current legislation of Ukraine,
– providing material aid (on the basis of the company’s financial capabilities),
– paying: material incentives, one-time aid, compensations, bonuses and benefits in the cases provided for by the Collective Agreement,
– providing social assistance to the company’s veterans by paying material aid for treatment and material aid related to anniversary dates, etc.
The terms and conditions of the Collective Agreement were not complied with for a long time, though the Collective Agreement officially remained in effect. In 2022, after the new management team came to power, the social guarantees provided for by the Collective Agreement began to reappear:
– the new team did everything it could to eliminate the company’s wage arrears towards the seafarers,
– compliance with certain paragraphs of the Collective Agreement concerning material aid, which were not complied with due to the company’s difficult financial situation, was restored,
– material aid was paid to all of the company’s veterans for the first time,
– the repair units were provided with special clothing, footwear or personal protective equipment.
In 2023 virtually all of the paragraph of the Collective Agreement were complied with. Wages are paid in a timely manner and in full. Vacation pay, sick pay and material aid is paid.
Bonuses and benefits for overfulfillment of tasks, work intensity and professional excellence were introduced.
The social package includes the voluntary social insurance program for UDP employees (funded by the company).
